Celebrating the Chinese new Year in Style!

We recently had the pleasure of hosting an evening function for Singapore Airlines, celebrating Chinese New Year. We had the boat decked out in themed regalia, including red decorations.

The 80 guests who came aboard enjoyed a formal plated three course meal. Later, the Lion Dance Troupe entertained the guests, who were invited to put money into a red envelope and feed it to the lion. In Chinese culture, this is said to bring prosperity for the new year!

Music entertainment was provided after dinner by the Neo Jazz Trio, who got everyone moving. While we were out on the river we got to enjoy the Crown New Years Celebration fireworks over the water which were spectacular! Towards the end of the evening, mandarins were given to all the guests as part of the traditional New Years custom. It was a fantastic evening, enjoyed by all!
